Imagine adopting a dog to find out that he doesn’t give smoochies, kisses, lickies-nothing. Well, one family adopted a brother and sister pair of Dachshunds to find out just that; little Lucci (pronounced-loochy) was a no smoochie Poochie! The kids in your life will smile and giggle reading how this family, along with 2 other rather unique resident pups, tries everything to the point of exhaustion and still never gives up to get Lucci to give smoochies.

*Children’s*

Lucci is a dog who enjoys all of the other things dogs do, belly rubs, scratching behind the ears, running, playing. He doesn’t enjoy one thing most dogs do though… smooches. The family tries everything but Lucci won’t give in.

This is a delightful story and perfect for younger children. The rhyming of it will help the story stick once it’s finished. I’m positive this will become a favorite of your children too. We all loved it here! Our older dog, Buddy, was a lot like Lucci. Make this a gift of reading for your youngster whether they are reading yet or not!

I found no issues here.

I gave this one 5 out of 5 books because it’s a topic kids love… DOGS!

****Adorable!, April 16, 2012

I received a print copy of Lucci-The No Smoochie Poochie from the author for the purpose of review.

When I read this book to my 3 year old daughter, she loved it! The story is not too long as to keep a very young one’s attention. The illustrations are very simple; they look like a child’s drawing further engaging young ones to the book. At one point, the author mentions her nieces and nephews in the book and even has their pictures incorporated into the illustrations. My daughter loved this. She thought one of the author’s nieces looked like her. She said, “Mommy, that’s me. I’m playing with Lucci”. My daughter put herself right into the story which to me is a very good sign that she liked and was enjoying the book.

There was only one editing error that I found. On page 22 of the book: “the wondrous event just past (should be “passed”) us all by!”

Thank you Donna for sending me the book to review! You can learn more about Ms Sadd by visiting her website at [...]and her blog at donnalsadd.wordpress.com. I look forward to more from this children’s author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucci-The No Smoochie Poochie, March 9, 2012
This review is from: Lucci-The No Smoochie Poochie (Kindle Edition)

LUCCI-The No Smoochie Poochie is an adorable little childrens book which sends out the message of patience and love. Lucci is a dog who is not very friendly towards his owners. The owners try to show Lucci love through hugs and kisses and Lucci rejects the affections each time. Eventually Lucci comes around and returns the affection of the patient owners. LUCCI-The No Smoochie Poochie is just right for your young children who are learning the values of patience and understanding the concept of love. Love is lived out in patience and LUCCI does a wonderful job of displaying and explaining this concept in a fun manner.

The images in LUCCI-The No Smoochie Poochie are very simple yet springs to life through the colors. I believe that the simple drawing style used here will encourage your children in creating like characters of thier own.

****Sweet lil Lucci., January 14, 2012
My son enjoyed the drawings and pointed out the dogs on each page as I read to him. The rhymes flowed well and it was just the right length for a bedtime story.

Trying to purchase your book, but having trouble with PayPal tonight. We have 2 Dachshunds, Java Bean and Nikki Nichole. Nikki had a litter of 4 pups and we gave my grandson one for his birthday, which he named Black Bear. Dachshunds are the most loving dogs I have ever had. I am excited to purchase the book for my grandsons. If I continue to have problems with Paypal is there another way to purchase the book?

I hope to see more book about Dachshunds :)

You can’t beat a Doxi Kathy! They are tenacious and true blue. My little dapple Luca never leaves my side…literally. I’m sorry to hear that you had a problem with Paypal and will look into it promptly. Thanks for ordering LUCCI in print! :) ))
