I’m Donna Louise Sadd. Originally from New York, I spent 16 years in S. Florida and now have five years under my belt living out in the woods in beautiful Central Texas Hill Country.
Words have been my life. That’s why I shake my head now…I believe I am finally embarking on a road that I was meant to follow, writing children’s books. (“From my lips to God’s ears,” she says looking towards the heavens.)
I was a copywriter and moved up to assistant to the president of a New York advertising agency and marketed my small businesses and those of others using well-crafted words. Just ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I’m a self-proclaimed wordsmith.
The gang that really could tell you but they ain’t talking are my dogs, cat, birds, and 3 white goats, all the critters of my life to which I’ve rhymed and sang ever-changing, little ditties to each and every day for a thousand years! You know what they say, if you can’t have kids you have tons of animals.
Speaking of kids, I originally got the idea of writing my first children’s book while I was hanging out with my young nieces one day. We wondered why one of my newly adopted little dachshunds, Lucci (pronounced loochy) never gave smoochies, and I started rhyming verses while sketching the beginning pages of the children’s picture book, LUCCI THE NO SMOOCHIE POOCHIE. We had a ball, and I later finished the story and illustrations and had the book printed and bound just as it is available now.
LUCCI THE NO SMOOCHIE POOCHIE is a cute little story that I hope you and the kids in your life will enjoy! Thanks for taking the time to read it!
I’ve been meaning to check out more about your book! It sounds adorable and congrats on getting it published! I have often dreamed of publishing some children’s literature. I’ve actually written some stories starring my dogs for my son. I love forward to reading Lucci!
