DAY 20- SPORTS – #BlogFlash2012

20 Aug

2012 London Olympics-

Years of preparation, practice, blood, sweat and tears had come down to this moment in time.

They lined up in the starting blocks, got set, then the gun went off. It was over in seconds as the runners crossed the Finish line.

The crowd cheered as the medalists paraded around the field in their country’s flags.

Though many athletes ran the race, the runner who came in 4th sat dejected on the sideline. She knew she had finished in worst place.

Having been an athlete I can really feel for those people who didn’t get a medal! A great post, Donna!

Oh, that must be heartbreaking. No consolation, even to say you ran in the Olympic final. Lovely words x.

Thanks for commenting Lesley. The good thing is that they can never take away the fact that one is an Olympian forever. Having one in the family, I can say that the disappointment dissipates and the grand experience lingers.

Another great piece, Donna! I love how you captured both the elation and the dejection!
