MUSE

4-2-2013-APRILPROMPTS- DAY 2- MUSE- HEAD

I’m told muses bestow ideas, some writers swear it’s true.
Ethereal assistants delivering help out of the blue.
Some mystical magic, hocus pocus abstruse,
Does having a muse simply provide a convenient excuse?

When stuck on a plot, or a character needs tweaking
Lost author will be found pacing floorboards weeping
Till a muse sweeps in, spurring typing to begin.
Does an author need another for a plot to win?

Perhaps, writers don’t take enough credit,
They are the ones who write, re-write, and edit.
Doesn’t the magic come from one’s mind?
Why praise a being who is impossible to find?

Yet, is there something to the notion,
That a muse’s presence sets a story in fast motion?
I do believe in mystical things.
Do muses have diaphanous wings?

Is there a muse meant for me,
To dispense ideas and creativity?
I sure could use a radiant sage,
To help flow my pen across the page.

Muse, would you please leave today?
Race to me be on your way.
I’ll take you on, I’ve got nothing to lose.
Which story takes flight, you can choose!

#AprilPrompts Blogging Challenge

31 Mar

Having just completed Terri Giuliano Long’s challenge #BlogFlash2013, Carlie M A Cullen and I have decided we want to do another one and have decided to organize it ourselves.

The posts will be published every weekday throughout April and publicised using the hashtag #AprilPrompts. There will be a daily prompt posted on both our blogs (see list below), and each post has a maximum count of 200 words.

We would love it if you’d care to join us! This is a great way of getting the creative juices flowing and can be used as a writing exercise to warm up the muscles in the brain. It’s a lot of fun and a fab way of meeting new people.

It doesn’t matter if you can’t post every day, just do what you can. Post the links to your blog on this or Carlie’s site for each prompt you write and we’ll publicize it.

If you’d like to take part, please reply to this post.

Carlie and I look forward to blogging with you.

~ Donna
