Review:

I think I said it best in a tweet I sent last week when I finished reading MENDING HEARTSTRINGS:

“A story I wanted to just keep going, with characters I’d like to see again!” @ariaglazki MENDING HEARTSTRINGS http://amzn.to/1FRt8vm”

I must admit at first it kind of felt like work, but the more I read the more the story settled into a real-life romance instead of the perfect HEA with ideal gorgeous women and knight-in-shining armor men. Things seemed like they’d be going great and then BAM, something out of left field would throw the couple off. Kane is fearful that someone wants to tie their horse to his country music star wagon. Sabella, or Bella as Kane calls her, or Sab as her best friend Gina calls her, is one beautiful but tough cookie wrapped in a short, average body. I like the idea that girls of all sizes can read this and dream that they can have their own romance story. With Sabella and Kane, fear kept creeping in where love was meant to take hold, and we’re taken on a ride to see that, as long as you stay in the game, love can always replace that fear. Add a handful of funny and interesting characters, such as Gina the ‘colorful’ bestie, or Bobby, the flirty colt in Kane’s band, and you’ve got a lot of lighthearted moments and a current ancillary story as well. Both Sabella and Kane were closed off…mainly for the same reason of being broken hearted. They were constantly finding ways to push each other away in their heads to finally come to the conclusion that perhaps it’s best to follow their hearts and “jump off the cliff together”. Guys don’t ride in on white stallions, but they really do, even though it only looks like a gourmet breakfast or replacing locks in a jiffy. Add a tiny crack in the brick wall of her pragmatism that affords a loving woman a reason to stay put and fight for a man that’s worth waiting for…well that’s Kane and Bella, and we get to tag along to witness them mending their heartstrings.

I loved it!

Author Information

Aria’s writing story started when her seventh-grade English teacher encouraged her to submit a class assignment for publication.  That piece was printed, and let’s just say, she was hooked!

Since then, Aria has run a literary magazine, earned her degree in Creative Writing (as well as in French and Russian literatures), and been published in a few collections.  Though her first kiss technically came from a bear cub, and no fairytale transformation followed, Aria still believes magic can happen when the right people come together – if they don’t get in their own way, that is.

Other than all things literary, Aria loves spending time with her family, including her two unbearably adorable nieces. She also dabbles in painting, dancing, playing violin, and, given the opportunity, Epicureanism.

Penny Watson- Follow Another Doxi Devotee Who Loves Books, Martinis, Beards and Lumberjacks!

21 Mar

Hi Gang!

Fellow doggie lovers unite! If you don’t yet follow fellow Doxi/Weenie owner Penny Watson’s blog “Penelope’s Romance Reviews,” it’s time you do, and once there you’ll see the many reasons why you clicked.

Penny was kind enough to feature a review of LUCCI THE NO POOCHIE SMOOCHIE on her blog yesterday and I spent the morning bopping around her blog getting to know her. Now this is a creative nut that I wished lived right down the block so we could martini-klotch and let Lucy and Luca hang out together!

I write kids’ books so I’ve got to behave here but you guys don’t. I totally love Penny’s blog; it’s a place to relax, find good (HOT) romance books to read, get drink recipes and…I can’t believe it but love it…watch 1980s dance videos too! (Only a ‘youngster’ would be *wincing* right about now.)

Penny likes lumberjacks; I myself love pirates argh…both specimens being the epitome of masculinity and strength. The Klaus Boys to look too shabby either!

Please check out Penny Watson’s books, SWEET INSPIRATION and SWEET MAGIK,  which make up her Klaus Brothers Series about Santa Claus and his 5 hunky sons. I put them on my Goodreads list, downloaded them both and cannot wait to read them…just wish it weren’t March for Pete’s sake! Well, I’ll just read them again around holiday time too!

I’m eternally grateful that Penny went out of her way to help this new author. She posted a review on her blog and on Goodreads and  Tweeted away all day long about LUCCI and how to get the book. I even posted new sales because of it!

Fellow writer/bloggers when someone helps you, don’t forget to RECIPROCATE and do your best to help them too!

Thanks much Penny!
