About

DONNA RACER

I’m Donna Louise Sadd. Born and raised in New York, and now have 11 years under my belt living out in the woods in beautiful Central Texas Hill Country.

I was a copywriter and moved up to assistant to the president of a New York advertising agency, then went on to market my small businesses and those of others using well-crafted words.

Words have been my life. That’s why I shake my head now…I believe I’ve finally embarked on the road that I was meant to follow – Writing. Writing for children, big folk, business…simply writing!

LUCCI MONTAGE

I originally got the idea of writing my first children’s book while I was hanging out with my young nieces one day. We wondered why one of my newly adopted little dachshunds, Lucci (pronounced loochy) never gave smoochies, and I started rhyming verses while sketching the beginning pages of the children’s picture book, LUCCI THE NO SMOOCHIE POOCHIE. We had a ball, and I later finished the story and illustrations and had the book printed and bound for gifts.

Since publishing LUCCI on Amazon for family and friends, I have devoted myself to writing solely for children and learning the craft. I am a member of SCBWI, the Children’s Book Insider Clubhouse, a second-year participant of the 12×12 Picture Book Writing Challenge, and have graduated from the following acclaimed writing for children courses:

I’ve been meaning to check out more about your book! It sounds adorable and congrats on getting it published! I have often dreamed of publishing some children’s literature. I’ve actually written some stories starring my dogs for my son. I love forward to reading Lucci!
