Excerpt From New Novel Heart Search: Lost by Carlie M.A. Cullen

All this month I’ve been participating in Carlie M.A. Cullen’s blog tour for her debut paranormal novel HEART SEARCH: LOST. Today I’m happy to feature an excerpt from this terrific book-

When he considered they were far enough from civilisation, he pulled her towards him muttering, “C’mere, baby. Come see what I’ve got for you.”

He yanked on her arm causing her to crash into him. He wrapped his arms around her and started to kiss her roughly, trying to bite her bottom lip. His fingers entangled in her hair and he pulled it hard as if trying to leave her with a bald patch. To his dismay, she didn’t cry out or try to resist. It was the screams and tears which really turned him on.

Perhaps he had met his match. Perhaps she enjoyed receiving pain as much as he relished dishing it out. He grabbed one of her breasts through her flimsy top and squeezed it with all his might. He heard a small snigger and she whispered derisively in his ear, “Is that the best you can do?”

His rage, never far below the surface, reared its ugly head. How dare this little bitch mock me? He thought, I’ll show her. He drew his arm back and punched her hard in the face, expecting to hear the satisfying crunch as her nose broke, but there was no sound and no blood. He couldn’t understand it then he heard her voice whisper again in his ear, “My turn tough guy,” and she laughed out loud, her voice sounding amused yet triumphant.

He felt a sharp pain in his neck, but before he could react or cry out, his knees gave way and he found himself on the floor. He felt himself growing weaker then everything went black as he sank into unconsciousness.

Dayna got to her feet and without a backward glance, walked away in search of her next victim, unaware he still had a faint pulse.
