Laughter
When my father
was young,
he went to work
painting backgrounds
for animated gels
in a cartoon studio,
The first day
he sat in on a session
of daily rushes,
giggling helplessly
at the gags
until the other
artists turned
around to glare
at the fool who
thought their
work was funny,
funny, isn’t it
how easily we
all forget what
we are really
doing here?
